About Girl Meet Girl
Girl Meet Girl was created (on 3 January 2019) to make meeting queer folks feel easy, safe, and genuinely welcoming. We’re a free Facebook community for bi, lesbian, sapphic, queer women, trans women, non-binary folk, and vulva owners who want real-life connection, whether that’s friendship, dating, or something that unfolds naturally in between.
Across Australia, our Girl Meet Girl Ambassadors host free, non-alcohol meet-ups designed to take the pressure off. Think relaxed gatherings in local parks or by the beach, always chosen with comfort in mind, including easy access to toilets and open, public spaces where everyone can feel at ease.
This isn’t about swiping, performing, or fitting into a scene. It’s about showing up as you are, having a chat, sharing a laugh, and seeing who you might meet. Some come to make new friends. Others are open to something more serious (yes we have success stories of people finding true love at a meet up!)
Girl Meet Girl exists to create safer, softer ways for queer connection to happen, in daylight, in nature, in community, and without the expectation of drinking or partying.
Inspired, creator Rosie Rees created a separate space: a Facebook group dedicated to “girls meeting girls”. While the name hints at simplicity, the community is much more inclusive - welcoming bi, lesbian, queer women, trans women, non-binary folks, and vulva owners of all kinds.
Whether you’re newly out, newly single, or simply craving more queer connection in your life, you belong here.
PS. Sapphic refers to women and queer people who experience attraction to women, including lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, and queer women, and can also include some non-binary people who feel aligned with woman-loving-woman experiences.

In 2020, a conversation inside her Yoni Pleasure Palace Facebook group went viral…women were opening up about their desire to explore connections with other women, even within their marriages.
Inspired, Rosie created a separate space: a Facebook group dedicated to “girls meeting girls”. While the name hints at simplicity, the community is much more inclusive - welcoming bi, lesbian, queer women, trans women, non-binary folks, and vulva owners of all kinds.
Rosie’s mission is simple: to provide a safe, alcohol-free, and judgement-free space where queer connection can happen naturally - whether that’s making new friends, exploring dating, or discovering something more meaningful.
Through Girl Meet Girl, she’s turning viral curiosity into a thriving, supportive community with ambassadors all across Australia hosting FREE meet-ups in parks, beaches, and other comfortable spaces.
Rosie believes that the best connection you can have is in-person! Connection shouldn’t be complicated, and everyone deserves a space to meet, belong, and explore their desires in a safe, welcoming environment.
