About Girl Meet Girl
Girl Meet Girl was created (on 3 January 2019) to make meeting queer folks feel easy, safe, and genuinely welcoming. We’re a free Facebook community for bi, lesbian, sapphic, queer women, trans women, non-binary folk, and vulva owners who want real-life connection, whether that’s friendship, dating, or something that unfolds naturally in between.
Across Australia, our Girl Meet Girl Ambassadors host free, non-alcohol meet-ups designed to take the pressure off. Think relaxed gatherings in local parks or by the beach, always chosen with comfort in mind, including easy access to toilets and open, public spaces where everyone can feel at ease.
This isn’t about swiping, performing, or fitting into a scene. It’s about showing up as you are, having a chat, sharing a laugh, and seeing who you might meet. Some come to make new friends. Others are open to something more serious (yes we have success stories of people finding true love at a meet up!)
Girl Meet Girl exists to create safer, softer ways for queer connection to happen, in daylight, in nature, in community, and without the expectation of drinking or partying.
Inspired, creator Rosie Rees created a separate space: a Facebook group dedicated to “girls meeting girls”. While the name hints at simplicity, the community is much more inclusive - welcoming bi, lesbian, queer women, trans women, non-binary folks, and vulva owners of all kinds.
Whether you’re newly out, newly single, or simply craving more queer connection in your life, you belong here.
PS. Sapphic refers to women and queer people who experience attraction to women, including lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, and queer women, and can also include some non-binary people who feel aligned with woman-loving-woman experiences.
Meet the Founder
Rosie Rees is a Sex & Relationship coach, entrepreneur, and e-commerce founder with a passion for creating spaces where women and queer people can connect safely and authentically. Her dream was always to become a professional match-maker!
In 2020, a conversation inside her Yoni Pleasure Palace Facebook group went viral…women were opening up about their desire to explore connections with other women, even within their marriages.
Inspired, Rosie created a separate space: a Facebook group dedicated to “girls meeting girls”. While the name hints at simplicity, the community is much more inclusive - welcoming bi, lesbian, queer women, trans women, non-binary folks, and vulva owners of all kinds.
Rosie’s mission is simple: to provide a safe, alcohol-free, and judgement-free space where queer connection can happen naturally - whether that’s making new friends, exploring dating, or discovering something more meaningful.
Through Girl Meet Girl, she’s turning viral curiosity into a thriving, supportive community with ambassadors all across Australia hosting FREE meet-ups in parks, beaches, and other comfortable spaces.
Rosie believes that the best connection you can have is in-person! Connection shouldn’t be complicated, and everyone deserves a space to meet, belong, and explore their desires in a safe, welcoming environment.
Girl Meet Girl Community Rules
All members of the Girl Meet Girl Facebook group agree to these rules:
18+ women only
This is safe space for lesbian or bisexual women to meet other lesbian or bisexual women! People who are (at minimum or over) 18 years of age, cis women, non binary (AFAB) and trans women all welcome.
Keep Event Promotions Free and Sapphic Only
This community exists for sapphics to meet, date, and support one another, not as an event bulletin board. Ticketed events may only be promoted for free within the GMG Messenger chat for the location of the event. To advertise a ticketed event more broadly, please contact Vanessa Moon (vanessa@yonipleasurepalace.com) to discuss paid advertising. Free sapphic community events may be shared within reason as this group is about dates and support.
Keep your posts relevant to the group
Keep posts that have a purpose other than to sapphic-specific support, socialising or seeking connections for other relevant groups (Yoni Pleasure Palace, buy/swap/sell, business or other community groups).
No threesomes/unicorn seeking (ENM welcome)
Any person seeking a "unicorn" for threesomes will be suspended/removed. While we celebrate consensual exploration, GMG wasn't intended for this purpose. If you're looking for a third, we suggest trying Feeld or other groups. (Ethical Non Monogamy, Open Relating, etc welcome.)
Respect everyone's privacy
Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, AND may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group or PM should stay in the group or PM. No screenshots allowed of posts or PMs from members.
Only PM members after given consent
Please only PM a member of this group AFTER you have asked them first in a comment/within the group and they have given consent. You are welcome to message the admin team anytime.
Be kind and courteous
We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
No hate speech or bullying
Make sure that everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
Remember Facebook's Community Guidelines
Unfortunately, if any admins approve posts that Facebook deems to be going against their Community Guidelines this can put the community at risk of being deleted (without warning). Posts that admins deem "too risky" will not be approved. You are welcome to reach out to any of the admin team to discuss further.
Do not block any of the admin team
Please note, if you block any admin team members, you will be suspended until you lift the blocking. Blocking admins hinders their ability to protect and care for our community. If you have concerns about any team member, contact Rosie directly to discuss. This ensures we maintain a respectful and secure environment for everyone.
